Prelude to nothing, 2012
curated event

Prelude to nothing was an event curated by David Fagan which attempted to mark a moment of finality; Europe's last ever broadcast of satellite television signals in the original analogue format. This happened at 2am on Monday April 30th 2012.

The event featured contemporary dance, sculpture, video, performance and audio work by Kevin Atherton with Cormac Brown, Ruth Clinton & Niamh Moriarty, Kevin A. Freeney, Andreas Kindler Von Knoblock & Tom Watt, Kevin Kirwan, Áine Stapleton, Brian Conniffe & Suzanne Walsh and Lee Welch.
The evening aimed to frame broadcast system anthropomorphically and mark it's passing. At 1.55am we stopped to watch television, at 2am, the signal ceased.

A small publication was produced, designed by Adam Cascio with text by Patricia Garcia and Tracy Hanna.
